Hempel’s Employee Foundations

Hempel’s Employee Foundations can grant financial support to current and sometimes even retired employees of the Hempel Group and their immediate family (spouse/partner and children) in the event of unfortunate situations. Support can also be also granted towards the funding of higher education for the children of Hempel employees.

About the foundations

In 2017 a new Hempel Employee Foundation was established as a supplement to the already existing foundation, and support is therefore granted from either Hempel’s Employee Foundation from 1954 (CVR no. 74697712) or the new Hempel’s Employee Foundation of 2017 (CVR no. 38652508). When sending your application through our online application system you will automatically apply for funding from both foundations.

How to apply

You must send your application through the online application system. Once registered in the system, info boxes will guide you through the process.

If you are unable to make an online application yourself, we suggest that you contact your local P&C department, who can assist with your application. All applications must be made in English or Danish.

After completing the application, the Secretariat assess whether your application is in compliance with the bylaws of the foundations. You will be contacted if further information is needed to process the application. Once ready, the application will be submitted to the boards of the Employee Foundations, who decide whether to grant support. Please note that it may take some time before you receive an answer to your application, as the Boards meet 3 - 4 times a year. Dates are set from meeting to meeting.

If the Board decides to give a grant, please be advised that the Hempel Employee stated as a relation in the application will be informed that a donation will be given. They will, however, not be informed of the content of the application.

And please be advised that all grants received from Hempel's Employee Foundations are subject to relevant local taxes.

How the Employee Foundations process your information

When you apply for financial support from Hempel’s Employee Foundations, you give your consent to registration and processing of the personal information specified in your application (cf. The EU General Data Protection Regulation). The consent can always be revoked, and you are entitled at any time to be informed of what personal information the foundations have registered about you. The foundations use the information to process your application and to generate statistics on a general level regarding applicants, beneficiaries and grants.

The foundations will keep personal information for as long as necessary with regards to the purpose described above. Sensitive information is either deleted at the request of the applicant or automatically after 6 years. Rejected applications are deleted 6 months after they have been processed at a board meeting. If you wish to withdraw your consent, or if you have other questions, please contact the Secretariat at: hempel@hempelsemployeefoundation.com.

According to the Danish tax law, the foundations are obligated to submit information about grants to Skattestyrelsen (The Danish Tax Agency) if you are liable to pay tax in Denmark. This is only relevant if you have a Danish civil registration number, on which the tax reporting is based. Apart from this, the Employee Foundations will not pass on any other personal information to third parties.
